June Studio Sale - Roy Featherstone

Hello everybody!

It’s been a slow year for sales, and it’s just coming to light why – one of my online galleries is going out of business and slyly started to stop promoting its site and contacting its customer base about new works over the past few months, which has really throttled my sales and income. Being an artist is a great profession – it has far more plusses than negatives, and I don’t believe in the overused and over-analyzed myth of the starving artist.

One can’t go through more than five minutes of their day without running into something that an artist helped create, design, color, etc. With everything in the world (real and tech) having been touched, contemplated, or created by an artist, that means there’s a lot of art jobs and work out there for artists, so for the general public to glamorize the starving artist myth or tell painters, designers, musicians, photographers, etc that they’ll ‘be rich when they’re dead’ is just a horrible thing to deal with on a regular basis.

With all of that said, artists have bills to pay and families to support. When a major online site cuts its business off without warning, it leaves a lot of artists in the lurch. So to hopefully help catch up on the lost income of the past few months, here’s a sale of the works that I have in my studio to help me catch up!!!
